Assembly Technician is an entry level role that performs assembly and inspection of various sub-assemblies of the production line, requiring the use of precision measuring instruments, complex test equipment, and other tools. Work may involve troubleshooting and minor repair of mechanical and/or electromechanical problems. High standards of quality are a must. This role typically requires 0-2+ years of experience in the field or in a related area. This individual should have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a the field.
Job Location: Mission, Kansas
Schedule: Generally, 4 - 10-hour workdays Monday through Friday. This is an on-campus position. Regular and punctual attendance is an essential function
- Scope of the Role:
- Assemble and test products while adhering to procedures and bills of materials
- Validating the product meets the performance requirements and recording test results
- Maintain accuracy of inventory stored in areas of responsibility
- Safeguard assembly equipment is properly calibrated and maintained
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems with the completed assemblies
- Perform inventory cycle counts for area of responsibility and help resolve inventory discrepancies
- Help ensure that employees maintain acceptable levels of quality
- Monitor Key Performance Indicator (KPI); the timely and quality completion of WIP jobs, support the evaluation of products classified as defective, support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives
- Perform on the job training within areas of responsibility
- Some packaging of finished products
- Participate in 5S/continuous improvement audits
- Participate in cross-department pilots
- Education and Experience Requirements:
- Associates degree or Technical School certificate is preferred
- Mechanical and Electrical abilities
- Solid trouble-shooting ability
- Ability to use precision measurement devices
- Ability to lift 80 lbs.
